Attorney-at-law
Maud Slaghek has been working as an attorney-at-law at De Roos since September 2020. She primarily advises on ICT law, privacy, and data protection.
Maud supports organisations with a wide range of matters, including setting up privacy-compliant business models, drafting and negotiating data processing agreements, and advising on international data transfers and data breaches.
She also serves as a Data Protection Officer (DPO) for several clients, with responsibilities including communication with the Dutch Data Protection Authority, advising on high-risk data processing and providing support in the event of data breaches.
Before joining De Roos, Maud worked as legal counsel at a large consultancy firm in Amsterdam, specialising in personal data processing. She was in charge of monitoring the processes surrounding privacy and data protection and was mainly responsible for contract negotiations with multinational clients.
Education:
• Grotius Academie – cum laude, specialised post-academic education in privacy and data protection law (2024)
• VU Amsterdam – cum laude, Master of Laws in Internet, Intellectual Property and ICT (2020)
Practice areas:
Maud has registered privacy law as her legal practice area in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister), which requires one to obtain ten training credits annually in the registered legal practice area, in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
